Math-a-Thon Homepage St. Jude Homepage

Here you will find resources for your child's Math-A-Thon event. Find out how you can encourage your child to do the math and help save lives. Math-A-Thon is a free educational program that teaches kids the importance of math while helping others in need.

  • First, students ask family and friends to sponsor their participation in the program.
  • Then, students receive a Funbook filled with math problems. (With your permission, students also have the option of going online to complete their Funbook.)
  • Finally, they collect pledges from their sponsors and return them to the school to be sent to St. Jude.
Your child can earn prizes based on how much money they raise. Of course, the best reward for participating is knowing your family has made a difference in the lives of children suffering from cancer and other catastrophic diseases. You and your child make it possible for St. Jude to treat patients regardless of a family's ability to pay.

Do the math … online
Help your child be the top fundraiser with our online fundraising tools. Using these tools can help maximize your child's efforts to help children just like them who are battling cancer and other deadly diseases.

To get started, simply find your child's school and help them set up their personal, fundraising Web page. The page will allow you and your child to:

  • share with friends and family why they want to support St. Jude
  • send e-mails asking friends and family for their support and thanking them
  • promote your child's Web page on Facebook and Twitter
  • set a fundraising goal and keep track of their progress
  • receive credit card donations
Plus, your child can do their Math-A-Thon problems in the online Funbook. The online Funbook offers a fun, interactive alternative to the paper version of the Funbook. Check with your child's teacher to find out which version they prefer.
